2017 Charity Golf Tournament

Our 15th Annual Green Financial Charity Golf Classic and Dinner will be Tuesday, September 19th at the River Club in Suwanee, GA. We will again be supporting the Auditory-Verbal Center, Inc. (AVC).

AVC is a nonprofit 501(c)3 charity organization providing comprehensive Auditory-Verbal and other audiological services to deaf infants, children, and adults. Their focus is on teaching children with mild hearing loss to profound deafness to listen and speak clearly, and to function without the use of sign language. This opens up a deaf child's world to be able to communicate to everyone, not only to those who know sign language.  And they are taught to speak clearly, they can function fully in the world. For more information, please visit avchears.org

This is a cause near and dear to Roger's heart, as his son Michael is deaf and was trained by AVC as a small child. He has been mainstreamed throughout his school years and he recently completed an accelerated one-year Masters in Finance program at Georgia State University, and is working and living independently.  Despite being completely deaf, he is living a full and normal life largely due to the skills taught to him at AVC.  He is able to “hear” and interpret sounds with the assistance of a cochlear implant, to read lips when necessary, and to speak clearly so that his world is not limited to only those who can communicate using sign language.  What AVC does for these children is truly amazing and life-altering.
