Charity Golf Classic 2010 and 2011

We did it again!  The 9th Annual Green Financial Charity Golf Classic held Tuesday May 24th, 2011 at The River Club in Suwanee, raised over $30,000 in donations for the Gwinnett Children's Shelter.  We had a spectacular day of golf in terrific weather, followed by a delicious Italian dinner outdoors at the Lodge at The River Club. David Greene, former Georgia Bulldog, came out to join us and help us with this worthy cause.  Every aspect of the event was planned and coordinated by my wonderful, detail-oriented staff.  Contributions from our sponsors, our clients, and people from the community helped raise the money to provide this generous donation to the shelter - a charity very near and dear to my heart!

The Gwinnett Children’s Shelter provides transitional housing and counseling for children ages  5-17 in our community who have been removed from or cannot continue to live in their home due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or serious family dysfunction, as they await a more permanent living situation. Each year the Shelter must raise over $200,000 from the community to stay in operation.  Although they receive support from state per diems, county government, and the United Way, additional funds are needed from individuals and businesses.  Annually, the Shelter serves over 300 youth through Shelter services, 6000 youth in community education, and 60 families through parenting classes. Our staff has visited the Shelter and has seen the wonderful things they are doing for the children of this community who do not have the things we often take for granted – a safe home, a loving family, and material comforts.

2010:  The 8th Annual Green Financial Resources Charity Golf Classic benefiting the Gwinnett Children's Shelter was held May 18th 2010. We had over 100 golfers and a beautiful lunch in The Lodge at The River Club.  Once again, over $30,000 was raised for the Gwinnett Children's Shelter!!  We want to thank the sponsors, our clients, our guests, and our wonderful staff for all that was done to support this event.  All money raised went to the Gwinnett Childrens Shelter as GFR pays for the golf, lunch and all other event expenses, other than those donated by a sponsor. Since 2007, we have raised over $90,000 for the shelter!!
